The focus of Competent Kiwi is the establishment of a network of like-minded Private Training Establishments (PTEs) and Tertiary Education Organisations (TEOs) working in collaboration to provide industry clientele with high-quality, relevant, training and assessment. This collaboration has been deliberately designed to promote the health of employees and provide safe and productive workplaces. Competent Kiwi goes into the classroom as a completely independent entity and moderates what goes on prior to, during and after the training session. The focus of moderation is on the trainer, the learning environment and the content of the learning material, ensuring all are conducive to trainee understanding and job requirements. The moderation will extend where necessary outside of the classroom and into the work place to validate that the trainee has assimilated the training. The development and growth of Competent Kiwi has evolved because of the strong desire to see workplace injury and death lessened, and workplace health increased to a far greater degree than where it is presently. Competent Kiwi firmly believes that to do this we must ensure relevant and meaningful quality driven standardized training to industry. Nothing less is acceptable.
